Jack Daniel is old, bearded, and curmudgeonly. Jack is also Technical Product Manager for Tenable Network Security, and he has over 20 years’ experience in network and system administration and security, and has worked in a variety of practitioner and management positions. He also writes about himself in the third person. A technology community activist, he supports several information security and technology organizations; Jack co-founded and organizes Security B-Sides events, gatherings of security enthusiasts born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. Jack is a frequent speaker at technology and security events large and small. An early member of the information security community on Twitter, @jack_daniel is an active and vocal Twitter user, and is known for his heartwarming and encouraging morning Tweets of Despair. Jack is a Very Reluctant CISSP, holds CCSK, and is a Microsoft MVP for Enterprise Security. Jack’s Uncommon Sense Security was named to the Security Bloggers’ Hall of Fame at the 2013 Security Blogger Awards.
