Production Systems Security Engineer

Security Weekly is one of the oldest and largest security podcasts in the world.  Founded in 2005, we now produce 7 security podcasts a week from our studio in Warwick, RI.

The Security Weekly mission is to provide free content within the subject matter of IT security news, vulnerabilities, hacking, and research. We aim to use new technology to reach a wider audience across the globe and teach people how to grow, learn, and become security professionals. Job Description:

We are seeking candidates for full-time employment, approximately 40 hours per week. Candidates may be enrolled in a degree program for similar subjects, such as production audiovisual engineering and/or computer information systems.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and a technology-rich environment. We are looking for outgoing, highly motivated candidates to join the Security Weekly Production Systems Team. The team is responsible for the design, planning, and execution of our fast-paced digital media environment.  You will work with and learn the latest audio/video production and podcasting technologies.

This position will work with the team to design, build, secure and maintain a variety of systems including remote video teleconferencing, local and remote backup storage, and Amazon AWS technologies and services. Gain experience building, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting studio production hardware and software including Blackmagic Design, Newtek, Windows and Linux Operating systems, Allen & Heath audio equipment and custom software developed in-house. You will use command-line scripts and other scripting languages to improve our highly automated systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Automate and maintain the systems used for production, including Windows/Linux/macOS, A/V equipment, and networking
  • Design, build and maintain software and hardware to support the production process
  • Design, build and maintain security solutions, commercial and open-source
  • Build computers, computer networks including installing and configuring operating systems and software
  • Maintain equipment and systems that support production, including computers, networking devices, backup software, media management, and other related technologies
  • Create and maintain scripts (Bash, Python) to support the production process, including interfacing with APIs provided by various devices and applications
  • Support Production team with assembling sets for recording shows
  • Appear on our shows and/or webcasts to deliver segments on the various projects you have been working on

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Audition, Premiere)
  • Blackmagic Design ATEM, Canon cameras, Allen & Heath audio equipment, DBX
  • Basic knowledge of cloud technologies (including Amazon AWS)
  • Basic knowledge of scripting languages (Bash, Python, Powershell)
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to perform well under pressure
  • Basic understanding of lighting and cameras
  • Knowledge of operating systems including Windows, Linux, and macOS

  • Keep studio clean, organize cables, and operate/test audio, video and lighting equipment before shows

Marketing Programs Coordinator

Job Description:

We are looking for a self-motivated, Marketing Programs Coordinator to assist our sponsors to develop, track, and measure their marketing programs with Security Weekly.  In addition, the Marketing Programs Coordinator will assist Security Weekly with its outbound marketing activities to increase our listeners and subscribers, generate leads for sales, and cross-market ours and our sponsors’ content.

Key Responsibilities:

As a key member of a small and versatile team, you will:

  • Work with a dynamic team to develop, track, and measure marketing programs for our sponsors
  • Work with sales on the renewal process for existing sponsors
  • Work directly with the Chief Executive Officer to develop outbound marketing programs for Security Weekly to promote listener growth and new sales leads
  • Drive innovation by coming up with new ideas for our marketing activities
  • Point out issues with the existing processes and procedures, provide ideas for solutions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in a fast-paced marketing environment
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of various marketing systems 
  • Ability to coordinate sponsor activities across multiple sponsors
  • Initiative and the ability to work independently and in a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Hubspot (or other CRM)
  • Experience using WordPress (or other CMS)
  • Experience using Google Ads
  • Background in Information Security or Cyber Security
